Josh Morton
When he blew his rotator cuff playing baseball for UCLA, Josh found himself out of school and looking for work. The first step on his career path into the entertainment industry landed him a job running a Pro-Tools rental house. He was recruited by another audio company, Fairlight USA, where he was able to sharpen his technical chops. That company shut its doors in 2003 but he was lucky enough to impress one of their clients, Paul Sandweiss of Sound Design Corporation, enough to land him an entry-level position as a television sound mixer on their minor league team.
He now mixes complete award shows including The Kennedy Center Honors, The Radio Disney Music Awards, and The BET (Honors and Hip-Hop Awards). He's not afraid to bring it high and tight with some cheese on packages/roll-ins for The Grammys, The Billboard Music Awards, The SAG Awards, The Golden Globes, The AMAs, and The ACMAs. Josh has also been used as a set-up man on mixes for specials including The Beatles: The Night That Changed America, Teachers Rock!, and All Together Now, a Celebration of Service. You may also find him used out of the bullpen as a closer on shows such as HBO's Herblock - The Black and the White, PeeWee Herman Live on Broadway, as well as We are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial. Comedy shows are another part of his vast mixing repertoire mixing shows for comedians such as George Carlin, Cedric the Entertainer, Russell Peters, and all four original Blue Collar Comedy comedians. One Night Only: Eddie Murphy and One Night Only: Don Rickles are two other shows that are right in his wheelhouse. Josh doesn't balk at TV series either; he has recently headed to the mound to deliver pitches for Austin & Alley, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, BET's Sunday Best, and Apollo Live.
Josh's contributions to the team have landed him two Emmy nominations and One win for The Oscars. He has also taken home three second place trophies and five long-drive awards for his participation in the ATK annual golf tournament.
